Learn to Speak Thai

My name is Gaanchana Turasri and I and my teachers have been providing easy Thai language lessons in Phuket, Thailand for over nine years and through our Thai language teaching we have brought the pleasure of Thai language conversation to hundreds of foreigners.

You also can increase the pleasure of your stay in Thailand by easily learning to speak Thai, and if you are more ambitious to read and write Thai.

For beginners, Thai lessons start with question and answer sessions in the Thai language, along with Thai tonal pronunciation to help you through essential day to day communications. Upon mastering the basic Thai language, students move on to wider Thai vocabulary and sentence skills to enable you to communicate at a higher level of fluency and understanding.

Of course speaking Thai is of little value if there is poor understanding of what the person answering in the Thai language is saying; here I place great emphasis on recognizing what is being said in Thai and the correct Thai response along with how to manage the inevitable misunderstandings.

For more advanced students not only do I teach spoken Thai in its most fluent and tonal form but also reading and writing the Thai language. To be able to read and write Thai opens many doors and gives immense satisfaction to students who for business, cultural or residency reasons may spend longer periods in Thailand.

The Thai conversation lessons consist of four levels of fluency with Courses 1 and 2, taking around twenty hours of coaching per Course, and Courses 3 and 4 around 25 hours. These are average times but of course it does depend upon the aptitude and application of the student at learning a foreign language. After completion of Course 4, Thai lessons can move on to more advanced Thai conversational and tonal skills. I have a number of students who I have been teaching over the last few years to speak, read and write Thai to a high standard of fluency and understanding.

Learning to speak Thai and English can take place in your
home or office, or in an air conditioned classroom in Chalong.
